Binance App Installation Guide for Every Platform

Binance is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world by trading volume, offering official apps across three main platforms: Android, iOS and desktop. Because app store policies in mainland China mean the Binance app cannot be searched and downloaded directly from local stores, users need to obtain the installer through other legitimate channels. This article walks through the download and installation methods for every platform, covering the major phone brands and operating systems used in China, and helping you install the Binance app safely and efficiently and complete the first-time setup.

Whether you are using a Huawei HarmonyOS phone, a Xiaomi MIUI/HyperOS device, OPPO ColorOS, vivo OriginOS, Samsung One UI, an Apple iPhone/iPad, a Windows PC or a Mac, you can find the matching installation instructions here. Please obtain the latest installer from the Binance official website, or tap Download the Binance App directly.

Downloading and Installing the Binance App on Android

The core flow for installing the Binance app on Android is: download the APK installer from an official channel, then allow your phone to install apps from the browser. The APK is around 80MB and can be installed directly once downloaded. The whole process does not require root access and does not require the Google Play Store.

General Installation Steps

Step 1: Visit the Binance website to download the APK

Open your phone's built-in browser and visit the Binance official website. On the homepage, find the "Download" entry, then choose the "Android APK" option. The system will start downloading the APK (about 80MB) - please download over WiFi to save data.

If the browser pops up a safety warning saying "this type of file may harm your device", this is the standard Android prompt for any installer outside the app store. Tap "OK" or "Download anyway" to continue.

Step 2: Allow installation from unknown sources

Once the APK download is complete, tap the download-complete notification in the notification bar, or find the APK in your file manager's "Downloads" folder and tap it. The system will show a prompt saying "Installation from this source is not allowed" or similar - you will need to go to Settings to enable permission.

The steps are: go to "Settings" -> "Security" or "Privacy" -> find "Install unknown apps" or "Unknown sources" -> select your browser -> toggle "Allow from this source". The exact path differs slightly between phone brands and is described per brand below.

Step 3: Finish installing and open the app

Once you have granted installation permission, go back to the APK file and tap install. Installation normally completes in under 30 seconds. Tap "Open" when done to launch the Binance app. On first launch the app may download a small amount of updated data - please keep your connection stable.

Huawei (HarmonyOS / EMUI)

Huawei's HarmonyOS is fully compatible with Android APK installers. The special thing about Huawei devices is the "PrivateSpace" / "Pure Mode" feature, which when on by default blocks app installation from anywhere other than the Huawei App Gallery.

How to turn off Pure Mode: go to "Settings" -> "System & updates" -> "Pure Mode" -> tap "Exit". On some HarmonyOS 4.0 and later versions the path may be "Settings" -> "Security" -> "More security settings" -> "Pure Mode". Once Pure Mode is off you can install the APK normally.

After installation, if you want to switch Pure Mode back on for day-to-day security, you can return to the same settings page and enable it again. Pure Mode does not interfere with the normal operation of apps already installed.

Huawei-specific install prompt: Huawei devices may show a prompt saying "this app has not been certified by Huawei" when installing the APK. This is Huawei's built-in security check - tap "Install anyway" or enter your lock-screen password to confirm. Some versions will also show an "App security scan" progress bar; wait for the scan to finish and you can continue installing.

If your Huawei phone cannot disable Pure Mode (on certain customised models), try the following: search for "Pure Mode" in Huawei App Gallery and check for updates, or search for the keyword "Pure" inside "Settings" to jump directly to the setting.

Xiaomi (MIUI / HyperOS)

Xiaomi's Security app may block APK installations. The fix:

MIUI: tap to install after downloading the APK, and if a "security risk" prompt appears, tap "Continue installing" at the bottom (you may need to wait out a 10-second countdown). If installation is blocked entirely, go to "Settings" -> "Privacy protection" -> "Privacy" -> turn off "Enhanced security protection".

HyperOS: go to "Settings" -> "Security" -> "More security settings" -> "Install unknown apps", pick your browser and toggle on "Allow from this source". HyperOS may also prompt you to verify your Xiaomi account password during installation - follow the prompts.

After installing the Binance app on Xiaomi, the Security app may pop up an "optimisation suggestion" recommending you uninstall the app - ignore it. Go to "Security" -> "App management" -> find the Binance app -> turn off "Auto clean" to stop the system from mistakenly clearing the app's cache.

OPPO (ColorOS)

Path to install APKs on OPPO devices: "Settings" -> "Passwords & security" (or "Security") -> "System security" -> enable "Install unknown apps" permission for your browser.

ColorOS 13 and above may require an extra step: when installing the APK a "Security check" page appears, tap "I understand the risks, continue install". Some OPPO devices also have an "App install protection" feature - just choose "Continue install".

If OPPO's "Kids Space" or "App lock" feature is enabled, it may interfere with the APK installation flow. If you see repeated verification prompts during installation, check whether these features are enabled first and temporarily disable them.

vivo (OriginOS / FuntouchOS)

Steps to install APKs on vivo devices: "Settings" -> "Security & privacy" (or "Security") -> "More security settings" -> "Install unknown apps" -> choose your browser -> toggle on "Allow from this source".

OriginOS 4.0 and above special handling: the first time you install an unknown app, the system may force face recognition or password verification. This is vivo's enhanced security measure - just follow the prompts.

vivo's "i Manager" may flag the Binance app as a "risky app" and suggest uninstalling it - this is a false positive, just ignore it. To stop this warning, go to "i Manager" -> "Virus scan" -> add the Binance app to the "Trusted list".

Samsung (One UI)

APK installation on Samsung is relatively friendly: "Settings" -> "Biometrics and security" -> "Install unknown apps" -> choose your browser -> toggle on "Allow from this source".

Samsung's "Secure Folder" feature does not affect APK installation. If you use Secure Folder, we recommend installing the Binance app in the main space rather than in Secure Folder to get the best push notification experience.

Google Pixel and Stock Android

For phones running stock or near-stock Android (Google Pixel, OnePlus OxygenOS international, Motorola and so on): "Settings" -> "Apps" -> "Special app access" -> "Install unknown apps" -> choose your browser -> enable permission. Stock Android normally has no extra security blocks, making the installation process the smoothest.

Installing the Binance App on iPhone / iPad

Apple devices require an Apple ID from outside mainland China to download the Binance app from the App Store. Below are three workable methods.

Method 1: Register a US Apple ID (Recommended)

This is the most stable and safest method. With a US Apple ID you can keep getting updates for the Binance app via the App Store long-term.

Registration steps:

  1. Open the Apple ID registration page (appleid.apple.com) in a desktop or mobile browser and click "Create Your Apple ID".
  2. Fill in your information using an email address that has never been used for an Apple ID before. Choose "United States" as the Country/Region.
  3. Enter your name and date of birth (must be 18+), then set a password and security questions.
  4. Complete email and phone verification (a Chinese mobile number can be used for verification - it does not affect the region setting).
  5. Once complete, your Apple ID's region is set to the United States.

Switching Apple ID on iPhone:

  1. Open "Settings" -> tap your Apple ID banner at the top -> "Media & Purchases" -> "Sign Out". Important: only sign out of "Media & Purchases", do not sign out of iCloud - otherwise it will affect your iCloud data and Find My.
  2. Tap "Media & Purchases" again -> "Not [Your Name]?" -> choose "Use other Apple ID to sign in", then enter the US Apple ID and password you just registered.
  3. Open the App Store and search for "Binance" - you will find the Binance app; tap "Get" to download.
  4. The first time you use a US Apple ID on a new device, the App Store may ask you to "Review" your account info - follow the prompts. If asked for a payment method, choose "None"; if asked for a US address, you can enter any US address (such as a hotel address).

Method 2: Register a Hong Kong Apple ID

Registering and using a Hong Kong Apple ID is essentially the same as a US one, except you choose "Hong Kong" as the Country/Region. The benefit of a HK Apple ID is that the interface defaults to Traditional Chinese, which is friendlier for Chinese-speaking users. Searching "Binance" in the App Store also works.

When filling in the address for a HK Apple ID, you can use any Hong Kong address. Payment method can also be set to "None".

Method 3: Borrow a Friend's Overseas Apple ID

If a friend already has a US or HK Apple ID, you can ask to temporarily sign in to their App Store account on your iPhone to download the Binance app. After downloading, sign out of your friend's account and switch back to your own Apple ID. Downloaded apps will not be deleted, but future updates will require switching back to the corresponding region's Apple ID.

Important note: please make sure you only switch accounts within "Media & Purchases", and do not log anyone else's Apple ID into the main iCloud account, to avoid data confusion or triggering account locks.

After Installing on iOS

App updates: future Binance app updates must be done while signed in to the US / HK Apple ID. We recommend periodically switching to that Apple ID to check for updates and keep the app current for the best security and features.

Notification permission: on first launch, allow the Binance app to send notifications - this is very important for receiving price alerts and account security notices.

Face ID / Touch ID: enable Face ID or Touch ID login in the Binance app's security settings - it is both convenient and secure.

Downloading and Installing the Desktop Client

Binance offers desktop clients for both Windows and macOS, ideal for users who want a large screen and multi-window monitoring.

Windows Desktop

System requirements: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit, at least 4GB of RAM.

Installation steps:

  1. Go to the download page on the Binance official website and choose the "Windows" version.
  2. The file is a .exe installer, around 150MB.
  3. Double-click the installer to run. If Windows Defender SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click "More info" -> "Run anyway".
  4. Follow the installation wizard - the default install path is fine.
  5. Once installation is complete, a Binance shortcut will appear on your desktop. Double-click to launch, then sign in.

Windows Firewall setup: on first launch, Windows Firewall may pop up asking for network access - choose "Allow access", otherwise the app will be unable to connect to the server.

macOS Desktop

System requirements: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later, supporting Intel and Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) chips.

Installation steps:

  1. From the download page on the Binance official website, choose the "macOS" version. Macs with Apple Silicon will match the correct build automatically.
  2. The file is a .dmg disk image, around 150MB.
  3. Double-click the .dmg to open it and drag the Binance icon into the Applications folder.
  4. On first launch macOS may say "cannot open Binance because it is from an unidentified developer". Fix: open "System Preferences" (or "System Settings") -> "Privacy & Security" -> find the Binance-related prompt at the bottom -> click "Open Anyway".
  5. Enter your Mac login password to confirm, and the app will open normally.

Apple Silicon optimisation: the Binance desktop client natively supports Apple Silicon and runs excellently on M-series Macs without needing Rosetta 2 translation. If Activity Monitor shows the Binance process as "Apple" architecture, it is running in native mode.

Download Security Tips

When downloading the Binance app, please be mindful of the following to avoid tampered malicious versions:

Only download from official channels: Android users should only download the APK from the Binance official website; iOS users should only download from the App Store. Never get installers from WeChat groups, QQ groups, Telegram groups, third-party download sites or any other unofficial source. Unofficial installers may contain malicious code designed to steal your account information and assets.

Check the APK file size: the official Binance APK is around 80MB. If the file you downloaded is clearly much smaller (a few MB) or much larger (over 200MB), it is probably not the official version - please re-download from the official channel.

Check app permissions: on first launch, check whether the permissions requested by the Binance app are reasonable. The app should normally request network access, notifications and camera (for QR scanning). If it is asking for SMS reading, contacts, background location or other unnecessary permissions, it may not be the official version.

Enable two-factor authentication: immediately after installing and registering / signing in, set up two-factor authentication (2FA). We recommend Google Authenticator or Binance's own Binance Authenticator, rather than relying on SMS verification alone.

Version Updates

Binance releases periodic app updates containing new features, performance improvements and security fixes. Keeping your app up to date is crucial for account security.

Android updates: since the Android version is installed via APK, it will not auto-update. When the app shows a new version is available, tapping the update prompt will guide you to download the new APK. You can also visit the Binance official website periodically to check manually. The new APK will overwrite the old one on install - you do not need to uninstall first.

iOS updates: after switching to the US / HK Apple ID, open the App Store and check for Binance app updates. We recommend enabling App Store auto-updates (while signed in with the corresponding Apple ID).

Desktop updates: the desktop client automatically checks for updates when launched and will prompt you. If auto-update fails, you can download the latest installer from the official site and install over the existing one.

If you run into any issues during installation, please refer to this site's troubleshooting tutorials, or visit the Binance official help center for support.
