Many iPhone users find no results when searching for "Binance" in the App Store. This is not because the app has been removed, but because you are currently using an Apple ID from mainland China. Due to policy reasons, the Binance app is only available on the App Store in other countries and regions, such as the US, Hong Kong, and Japan. To install the Binance app on your iPhone, you need an Apple ID from outside mainland China, and then switch to this account in the App Store to download it. The entire process requires no jailbreaking, costs no money, and solely utilizes Apple's own account system. You can also visit the Binance official website first to learn about the latest download methods, or if you have an Android spare phone, you can directly get the Android APK version via the Binance official app. For download methods across more platforms, you can refer to our iOS installation guide page. This article will focus on the complete installation process on an iPhone.
Why You Can't Find Binance in the Chinese App Store
Apple's App Store is divided by region. Each Apple ID is tied to a specific country/region, and you can only download apps available in that region's App Store. Cryptocurrency exchange apps have been removed from the mainland China App Store due to compliance policies.
This means: even if the Binance app itself is operating normally, you simply cannot find it using a Chinese Apple ID. The solution is to obtain an Apple ID for the United States, Hong Kong, or another region.
It's worth emphasizing that switching Apple IDs to download apps is a standard feature officially supported by Apple, not a hack or violation. Many people use this method to download region-exclusive apps across different App Stores worldwide.
Option 1: Register Your Own US Apple ID (Most Recommended)
Registering your own US Apple ID is the most recommended option because the account is completely under your control, offering maximum security and easiest future updates.
Preparations Before Registering
- Prepare an email address that has never been used to register an Apple ID. Gmail, Outlook, or ProtonMail are recommended. If you use an email already tied to an Apple ID, you will get an "This email address is already in use" prompt.
- Have your phone number ready. A mainland China mobile number is perfectly fine for US Apple ID registration verification; an American phone number is not required.
Registration Steps
Step 1: Open the Apple ID registration page (appleid.apple.com) in the Safari browser on your iPhone, and click the "Create Your Apple ID" link in the top right corner. You can also do this on a desktop browser using the same process.
Step 2: Fill in the registration details. The name can be anything; it doesn't need to match real IDs. Crucially, select "United States" for the Country/Region, as this determines the Apple ID's region. The birth date must indicate you are at least 18 years old. Set a strong password with uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers.
Step 3: Enter a phone number for two-factor authentication. You can directly use your mainland China phone number (+86) here, and choose to receive the verification code via text message. The phone number's region is independent of the Apple ID's region, so using a Chinese number to register a US Apple ID is entirely acceptable.
Step 4: Complete email verification. Apple will send a verification code to your email; enter it to complete the verification.
Step 5: Complete phone number verification. Enter the SMS verification code received on your phone.
After successful registration, you now possess a US Apple ID. Remember the email and password, as you'll need them to switch App Store accounts later.
Switch to the US Apple ID on Your iPhone
This is the step where many people make mistakes. Please follow these instructions strictly:
Important Reminder: Only switch "Media & Purchases"; absolutely DO NOT sign out of your main iCloud account.
Signing out of iCloud will disconnect all your iCloud Photos, Notes, Contacts, Find My iPhone, and other features, which is not what we want. We only need to switch the App Store download account.
Steps:
- Open your iPhone "Settings" and tap your name at the very top (the Apple ID avatar area).
- Scroll down to find "Media & Purchases" and tap it.
- Tap "Sign Out". This only signs you out of the App Store purchasing account without affecting iCloud.
- After signing out, tap "Media & Purchases" again.
- A prompt will appear; select "Not [Your Name]?" or "Use a different Apple ID".
- Enter the email and password of your newly registered US Apple ID to log in.
Download Binance from the App Store
After switching accounts, open the App Store. You might notice the interface language has turned to English (since it's the US region), which is normal. Enter "Binance" in the search bar, locate the official Binance app (developer name "Binance Inc."), and tap "GET" to begin downloading.
Initial download may require completing account details: The App Store might pop up a page asking you to "Review" your account information. This is a standard procedure for first-time downloads with a US Apple ID. Follow the prompts:
- Agree to the Terms and Conditions
- Select "None" for the Payment Method. If there is no "None" option, you can choose another method and change it later
- Fill in a US address: You can use any US address, such as a hotel address. For the State, choose a tax-free state like Oregon, Delaware, or Montana, to avoid state taxes if you purchase paid apps later
- The Zip Code must match the selected state, for instance, use 97201 for Oregon
Once you finish setting up your account information, return to the App Store, search for Binance, and download it normally.
Option 2: Register a Hong Kong Apple ID
The registration process for a Hong Kong Apple ID is largely the same as the US one, with the primary difference being selecting "Hong Kong" for the Country/Region.
The advantage of the Hong Kong region is that the App Store defaults to Traditional Chinese, making it friendlier for Chinese users. For the address, simply use a Hong Kong address; you can search for a hotel or mall address in Hong Kong to fill in. You can also select "None" for the payment method.
Once the Hong Kong Apple ID is registered, you can similarly search for "Binance" in the App Store to find the app. The download and installation steps are identical to the US region.
Option 3: Borrow an Overseas Apple ID from a Friend
If you have a friend who already owns a US, Hong Kong, or another overseas Apple ID, you can ask them to temporarily log in on your iPhone just to download the Binance app.
How to do it: Follow the steps above to switch "Media & Purchases", log into the App Store with your friend's Apple ID, search for, and download Binance. Once the download is complete, immediately sign out of your friend's Apple ID and switch back to your own Chinese region account.
Notes:
- Again, only switch within "Media & Purchases" and do not log into iCloud
- Downloaded apps will not be deleted when switching back to your Chinese account
- Future app updates will require switching to your friend's Apple ID once more
- We don't recommend using someone else's Apple ID long-term due to account security and privacy risks
This method is suitable for temporary emergencies; for the long term, we highly recommend registering your own overseas Apple ID.
Important Settings After Installation
Enable Notification Permissions
When opening the Binance app for the first time, you'll be prompted for notification permissions. It is recommended to choose "Allow". Notifications are crucial for receiving price alerts, login verification reminders, and account security warnings.
Setup Face ID/Touch ID
Go to Binance App → Personal Center → Security Settings → Enable Face ID (or Touch ID) Login. This allows you to log in quickly and safely using facial recognition every time you open the app, combining security with convenience.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
It is strongly recommended to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) immediately after installation. Go to the app's security settings page and choose "Google Authenticator" or "Binance Authenticator". Follow the prompts to download the authenticator app and link it. 2FA protects your account from being stolen even if your password is compromised.
Check App Permissions
Go to iPhone Settings → Scroll down to find Binance → Check the permission settings. Typically required permissions include: Notifications, Camera (for scanning QR codes), and Face ID. Location permissions are not required.
How to Update the App
Future updates for the Binance app must be done while logged into your US/Hong Kong Apple ID. When there is a new version available:
- Open iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Switch to your US/HK account
- Open the App Store → Tap your profile picture in the top right → Scroll down to check available updates
- Find Binance and tap "Update"
- Once updated, switch back to your Chinese region account
We recommend checking for updates every week or two. You can also enable automatic App Store updates while logged into the US Apple ID, but this requires you to stay logged into the US account without switching back, which may be inconvenient for most users.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I Lose My iCloud Data After Switching Apple IDs?
No. As long as you follow this guide and only switch "Media & Purchases" without signing out of your main iCloud account, all your iCloud data like Photos, Contacts, Notes, and iCloud Drive remain completely unaffected.
Does a US Apple ID Require Binding a US Credit Card?
No. Downloading free apps (including the Binance app) does not require binding any payment method. Simply select "None" as the payment method during registration.
Will the Binance App Be Deleted If I Switch Back to My Chinese Account?
No. Apps already downloaded to your iPhone will not be deleted or invalidated by switching Apple IDs. You can continue using them normally; you simply need to switch back to the US/HK account when updating.
What Should I Do If Registration Prompts "This email address is already in use"?
This means the email has been used to register an Apple ID before. You just need to use a completely new email that has never been registered as an Apple ID to register again.
Can't Find Binance When Searching in the US App Store?
Ensure your Apple ID region is indeed set to the United States: Open the App Store → Tap your profile picture in the top right → Look at the account information at the top and confirm the region is "United States". If it's incorrect, there's an issue with the Apple ID region setting, which must be amended in the Apple ID settings. Also, ensure you search for "Binance" in English, not in Chinese.
Can I Use Profiles/Enterprise Certificates to Install Binance?
This is strongly discouraged. Apps installed via profiles or enterprise certificates risk having their certificates revoked by Apple at any time, causing the app to fail to open instantly. Furthermore, installation packages from unofficial channels might be tampered with. The safest method is always downloading through the App Store.
